SPEAKER'S CORNER

The next few images are all from Sunday morning at Speaker's Corner in Hyde Park. It's a fascinating place, and it was especially interesting to visit during wartime.

You can go to the website for better details, but basically SC is a section of Hyde Park across from where the gallows once stood which now represents democracy at its strongest. On any given Sunday for centuries, anyone with a crate to stand on and a voice to yell with can make their deepest opinions heard, no matter how crazy they may be.

Everyone from Lenin to Marx to George Orwell has given it a try.
